Tails From Myakka City: At the Forest Domes

Here are some scenes from the habitat domes in our forests. During weather events like extremes of heat and cold or wind and rain lemurs in the LCF Myakka City Lemur Reserve colony gather at the domes for safety.

During other times the free ranging lemurs live together in multi-species habitats much like they do in Madagascar.

The domes and forest habitats are the perfect place for researches to observe a wide range of behaviors from parenting to scent marking.  This is significant in lemur science since there are few free-ranging colonies in the United States or outside of Madagascar.
